While only a legally appointed Civil Marriage Celebrant can perform a marriage ceremony, a Commitment Ceremony can be performed by a trainee or anyone with the particular skills. Although many celebrants view the ceremony as merely an "also" ceremony, couples who decide to commit themselves publicly to each other, usually have thought long and hard about it before taking such a step. Consequently they expect the seriousness of their intentions to be reflected by the Commitment Ceremony itself which should recognise the importance of this moment for them both as individuals and as a couple.

To compile a Commitment Ceremony have a look at some steps that can go into a Commitment Ceremony.

  • Greeting/Introduction/Welcome to family and Guests

  • Commitment Vows
